A Budgeting Tip for Credit Card Users

This is a little tip I picked up from a friend:
Each time you use your credit card, write down your purchase in your check book register, as if it were a check. When you balance your check book, deduct the credit card purchases just like the check purchases. If you use this method correctly (i.e. don’t let your balance go into the negative), you will be able to pay off the amount you spent on your credit card when you get your bill at the end of the month…because you’ve already set it aside. Basically, it’s just a process of incorporating your credit card purchases into your actual bank balance, helping you to avoid spending what you don’t have.
