Fixing Your Credit Score
Do you have bad credit? Are you unable to get an unsecured credit card? Are you ready to begin building up your credit score? If you answered yes to all these questions, you should consider getting a secured credit card.
With a secured credit card, your balance is created by a deposit that you make before you begin using the card. This deposit goes into a savings account…a savings account that the credit card company has access to. You spend money on the card just like you would with any other credit card, and you still get a bill at the end of each month. But, if you do not pay back what you owe, the credit card company can claim your debt from the savings account. Essentially, credit card companies will give you a secured credit card only because they know you can only spend what you have already given them. If you want to raise your balance, you have to deposit more money.
If you want to rebuild your credit, get a secured credit card and make only small purchases on it each month. Then, when you get your bill at the end of the month, pay off the full amount. Soon, you will build up a consistent payment history, and your credit score will get higher and higher. And, all the while, you’ll be keeping yourself from creating more debt.
