Financial Planning

One of the smartest thing that my best friend and I have ever done, concerning money, was to hire a financial advisor. Of coures, we did it for two different reasons. She is trying to get out of debt and I am trying to understand investing and buying a condo. But it has taken a lot of the stress of us, just being able to call someone who really knows what they are doing and get his advice. Of course, there are a lot of sketchy characters out there so you have to be careful when choosing one, but I highly recommend checking a few out. For me, I don’t pay any fees, the companies I invest in pay him. So there really is no down side, unless he gives me poor advice, which I hope he won’t do (isn’t this where I should knock on some wood?)

Damn credit cards

It was only a few days ago that I wrote about my credit card debt and how I have been trying to eliminate it. I was so excited that my two main credit cards carry a 0% interest fee. Well, gotta love the ironic timing, my newest American Express statement showed a new interest rate. Dammit! So it looks like I’ve got to bust my butt to get that one paid off this month. Looks like there will be no extra-sassy-nights out this month! Oh well, small sacrifice for some peace of mind, I suppose.
