Simple Saving Tips for Shopaholics

I was an impulsive buyer in my first years of work. But after I realized how hard it is to earn money, I’ve deviced some way in order to save and not give in easily to tempting items at malls.

1. Before I buy something, I ask myself few questions:
a) Do I need it?
b) Do I need it right now?
c) Do I have something in closet just the same with the item that I wanted to buy?
With this questions, before I knew it, the strong urge to buy a certain item slowly fades away.

2. Even though I really like to buy, I usually think about it overnight. In most cases, I tend to forget it the next morning. If ever it can’t go out of my mind, I give it another day or two. I may end up buying or not buying but at least it is worth it because it is thought of for many times.

3. I usually look for cheaper alternative instead of buying expensive clothes/accesories. I usually don’t go with brands since it may consume almost 1/4 of my monthly hard-earned money right away.

4. If I go to a mall for a stroll, I put that on mind the whole time. If ever there is an item that attracted me a lot, I will go back with step 1 or 2. Sometimes, mindover matter really works.
