Getting Out of a Financial Crunch
Even if you are not making much money, it is still possible to build a significant savings. All you have to do is keep track of your expenses and make sure you set aside a portion of your paycheck. Even if it’s only one dollar.
Live below your means
You’ll be glad you did if you or your partner should lose a job. This will make it a lot easier to make ends meet during lean times.
Get rid of all unnecessary expenses
You don’t really have to have cable, magazine subscriptions, frequent trips to restaurants etc.
Write down a budget
Include your bills, a small amount for entertainment. Stick to the budget.
Buy only at bargain prices
Don’t waste money on name brands. Buy generic instead. Use coupons.
Pay off debt
Pay off as much (or little) as you can every month. Each bill that you finish paying for will free up more money that you can either use to pay off other bills or put in savings.
After you’ve completed all of the steps, do everything you can to never get in debt again.
