Saving on holiday gifts
Christmas season may be six months away, but I have started my Christmas shopping already. This early I buy gift items on sale with a recepient in mind. Today I bought one-dollar Polo socks and surely enough, my recepients in mind have this particular brand in mind.
You may also buy personal items in bulk and re-pack them individually for people who share the same passion or interest. Two weeks ago, I bought 12 soap bars of Marks & Spencers. It was discounted by 30 percent. I’ll re-pack each and give one each to my girl friends.
Toy stores are also on discount these days. I have started buying toys for my godchildren as well.
I also created a sinking fund, about 20 dollars a month for the next six months. By December, the fund would be enough to cover my other purchases.
